The Banks Peninsula track is the first privately owned track to open in New Zealand back in 1989. It is an amazing 3-day hike. Nice footage nice effort. You guys did pretty well no poles no special equipment. Wondering how long did it take your group to reach the summit ? Drone footage very nice. Was considering taking mine didn't think DOC were in favour being a National park ?
unless your going in winter wouldn't say you need special equipment, doc time is like 6 - 8 hr return via loop track, if your in reasonable shape should be able to do the loop within 4 hours it's pretty easy going & well marked but yes drones over DOC land is a no no unless you have managed to get a permit from them
